Year 11 Leaders Visit to Parliament House

Our Year 11 Leaders were invited to State Parliament House to be guests of our local MP, Mr Victor Dominello. During their visit, the students were shown around State Parliament and had the opportunity to sit in and witness Question Time.

This was a great experience for our boys, to witness the strong debates and conversations that occur among our state leaders. Following this, Victor Dominello took the time out to meet our leaders. As an old boy of the College, Victor spoke to them about what he believes is good leadership. The heart of his talk was on the importance of putting others before yourself and that the essence of leadership is serving others. He discussed how proud he is when he sees our Marist boys in the community, wearing the uniform with pride and the positive way they contribute to the local community.

The day was a great opportunity for our future school leaders and they all walked away with a fresh perspective and guidance on how leaders should act, and at times (as displayed during question time)… how leaders shouldn’t act!!
